Weber Architects was founded with the aim of integrating sustainability at the heart of architectural design.
We Build Responsibly is not a slogan: it is the principle on which all our design decisions are based.
Weber Architects was founded by Filippo Weber thanks to his vision and his experience in architecture and sustainability. Officially founded in 2022, the studio is the evolution of a path based on research and design started in 2014 to give a contemporary interpretation/twist to the themes of sustainable and responsible architecture.
This responsibility guides our design approach to architecture. As architects and engineers, we look beyond the immediate challenges of the individual project and work to transform critical issues into future benefits.
“Today, talking about architecture inevitably means talking about sustainability. In this context marked by the climate crisis and increasingly under-pressured cities, design cannot disregard an environmental and social responsibility towards the present context and future generations”.
Filippo Weber
Filippo Weber started his professional career before graduating in Construction Engineering and Architecture at the University of Bologna in 2008
Member of the Order of Architects of Milan, he had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the leading Italian architectural firms operating internationally. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Architecture (MArch) in Sustainable Environmental Design from the Architectural Association School in London, where he began his research on sustainability which he then continued at the University of Westminster.
Here he participated as a researcher in the drafting of two European Horizon 2020 projects related to urban and building sustainability. He returned to Florence to devote himself to the renovation of a villa in Fiesole, an important project through which to apply the principles of sustainable design. From that moment on, he founded the WBR (Weber Architects) studio in Florence, where he oversees design and construction phases of all projects, from concept to building site. As part of his commitment to sustainability, he is a member of the Italian Climate Network Scientific Committee.
We design responsibly, aware that every building leaves an imprint on the environment. Our method integrates research, innovation and sustainability to create spaces that improve people’s well-being.
Our goal is to develop interventions that combine energy efficiency, low-impact materials and durable design. We believe in architecture as a means through which to apply the principles of sustainable design: improving the quality of life and contributing to a more sustainable future. Every building is an ecosystem that respects and integrates the environment: sustainability is not a compromise, but an aesthetic and functional value.

This design methodology makes it possible to generate a digital twin of the project, which will make it possible to assess its performance during the design phase, respecting budgets (LCC Life Cycle Cositng) and working in an integrated and immediate way with all the disciplines involved in a project. The high level of control during the construction phase and the update at the end of construction makes it an excellent building management tool both during maintenance and at the end of the life cycle.
Through BEM it is possible to verify and optimise active and passive comfort strategies, the comfort level of indoor and outdoor spaces, together with the evaluation of energy performance, and their punctual variation throughout the solar year.
Thanks to the integration of climate projections, this tool makes it possible to implement strategies that lead to a design that can be adapted to likely future scenarios (future proof design).
Analyses of the life cycle of the elements that make up an architecture, from the extraction of the materials that constitute its main components to their transformation (embodied energy and carbon), to the energy used during its useful life until the building’s decommissioning, allow us to unambiguously define the building’s impact on both the environment and people and to make conscious choices between different design alternatives.
The application of environmental certification protocols is integrated into a project process made up of clear strategies in which results are clear and comparable. Benchmarking becomes an additional form of project control and measurement, a tool that drives us to find ever more innovative solutions. We apply international protocols such as GBCI LEED, BREAM and WELL and national ones such as CAM and DNSH to our projects.
An architectural project is no longer the sum of its parts, but the effective combination of the many aspects that contribute to its realisation. This is why we promote an integrated design process, where, thanks to the experience of our team, all elements are carefully studied starting from the concept phase.
We are in fact architects, specialists, engineers, dreamers and innovators moved by the same goal: to make a difference.
We believe in the importance of a constant dialogue between design and technological innovation. We collaborate with specialists according to the needs of the individual project to ensure integrated and efficient solutions. Innovation is measured over time, through the durability and efficiency of each of our projects.
Every building has an impact. Environmental, social, economic.
That is why we consider every phase of the project as part of a responsible process: from the choice of materials to the life cycle of the building, to its relationship with the urban and human context.
We do not apply sustainable solutions after the fact.
Sustainability is a structural component of our working method.
We apply principles of passive design, energy efficiency, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) analysis and selection of low-impact materials from the earliest design stages.
The use of digital technologies and tools allows us to optimise environmental performance, increase precision and contain costs.
Our aim is to offer quality architecture, evolved and measurable in its results.
People’s well-being is at the centre of our vision.
Every space is designed for comfort, healthiness, improved air quality, natural light. Architecture should concretely improve the lives of those who live in it.
We work closely with customers, consultants and stakeholders to build efficient and shared processes. Co-design is an integral part of our methodology.
We listen, analyse and translate complex needs into clear and concrete solutions.
From small renovations to urban scale, we apply the same methodical and impact-oriented approach.
Each project is an opportunity to build lasting value while respecting the environment and people.
We Build Responsibly
We believe that architecture should generate lasting value for people, places and the planet. this means offering architecture that responds to the present, anticipates the future and respects what we inherit from the past.
