CASTIGLIONE DELLA PESCAIA
Villa in Punta Ala emerges from an approach that brings architecture, landscape and quality of life into dialogue with one another. Continuity between interior and exterior, the use of natural materials and a careful relationship with light and Mediterranean vegetation define an authentic, sensory architecture, designed to create a more conscious living experience, deeply connected to its surrounding landscape.
The project transforms three originally separate volumes into a single living organism, built around the relationship between interior spaces, natural light, and the Mediterranean landscape.
The project draws on natural materials and wellness-oriented solutions to create an atmosphere that feels authentic and tactile. Cocciopesto flooring, earth-toned walls, FSC-certified wood, and VOC-free paints come together to shape healthy, light-filled, sensorially balanced environments.
Material echoes between interior and exterior strengthen the bond with the Mediterranean landscape, which extends the living space outward and merges seamlessly with it.

The architecture is built on spatial and perceptual continuity: internal pathways open onto the garden, views are framed toward the landscape, and every room seeks a direct connection to light, natural ventilation, and open space.

The landscape design moves beyond the traditional idea of an ornamental garden to become an integral part of the architecture itself. The Mediterranean scrub is used as a spatial device, one capable of generating natural privacy, visual protection, and climatic comfort. Varying access levels and the arrangement of outdoor areas allow spaces to be experienced in relation to the sun, the wind, the rhythms of nature, and the changing moments of the day.
Lounge areas, an outdoor dining space, a barbecue zone, and pathways immersed in vegetation together define an inhabited landscape, one in which nature and architecture merge in continuous dialogue.

Large glazed surfaces on different sides of the villa expand the perception of space, allow natural light to flow through the interiors, and, thanks to their opposing positions, enable passive cooling through cross-ventilation. Sliding screens and overhangs shade façades and openings, ensuring privacy and environmental comfort while reinforcing the dialogue between architecture and the Mediterranean climate.

The project pursues a constant continuity between built space and landscape, turning the site’s climate and unique character into active, central elements of the living experience.
